Womensphere Week and AAFSC

September 16, 2011

Have you heard the news? We have been selected to participate in Womensphere Week’s Crowdrise fundraiser as one of the 14 leading non-profits focused on empowering women and girls. Today, they are launching their campaign to raise $7,000 for each of the participating organizations, including ours. That means that by September 25th, we can raise $7,000 for AAFSC, but it will require your help.

Please donate or join our team on Crowdrise to help us fundraise . You can also help by sending our Crowdrise page to your friends, family and networks to spread the word. With each tax-deductible donation, we get closer and closer to our goal. If you donate at least $50 before September 25th, you will be entered in a raffle to win an iPad2 donated by Womensphere.

Thank you for your support!

About AAFSC:

The Arab-American Family Support Center (AAFSC) is a non-profit organization that empowers new immigrants with the tools they need to successfully acclimate into the world around them and become active participants in their community. Established in 1994, AAFSC addresses the unique needs of the Arab American community through a variety of programs, services and activities, including: English as a Second Language and citizenship courses; access to free or low-cost healthcare; legal assistance; after-school, summer and weekend programs for children; violence prevention and intervention programs; and empowerment programs for women and girls, including women’s literacy classes, financial literacy workshops and after-school programs for teen girls. In addition to these social services, AAFSC promotes a stronger and more united Arab American community and provides a strong voice for immigrants in city affairs.
