AmeriCorps Vista Adult Education Development Assistant
Hello, my name is Jacob Agus-Kleinman and I am excited to be working this year with the Arab American Family Support Center as an AmeriCorps VISTA as the Adult Education Development Assistant.
AmeriCorps VISTA was founded in 1965 as a national service program designed to fight poverty in America. In my role this year I will be working with the development team to help build the capacity of the adult education program. From grant writing and recruiting volunteers, to volunteering in our ESL/Citizenship classes I hope to help expand the great work that AAFSC does.
A little about myself, I am a recent graduate of the University of Michigan where I studied issues of Urban Poverty and Community Action and Social Change. I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland and I just recently moved to New York City and am looking forward to exploring everything it has to offer.
I have really enjoyed my first month here and look forward to a great rest of the year and meeting even more members of the community.
