NPR: Trying To Assess COVID’s Impact On Arab-American Communities Is Complicated

Immigrants and refugees are disproportionatly impacted by COVID-19 due to compounding issues, including language barriers, lack of remote work options, and fears of impact to immigration status.

AAFSC recently spoke to NPR to share what we have learned in the past year as a front-line agency.

“The difficulty of social distancing on the job is further compounded by the fact that many of these workers live in multigenerational homes and overcrowded dwellings, making it more difficult to contain infections.”
