Recapping Ramadan 2022 and Fuel Your Community

From our community to yours, Eid al-Fitr Mubarak! As our community members break their fast with family and friends, we would like to thank you all for supporting our Fuel Your Community Ramadan campaign. This month, because of your generosity and commitment to your immigrant and refugee neighbors, we have:

• Engaged 2,460 people through community events addressing food insecurity and the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 in historically underrepresented and underserved neighborhoods across NYC
• Distributed 1,920 bags of produce, non-perishables, and hot meals
• Distributed 3,000+ PPE kits and COVID-19 at-home tests
• Distributed 5,000+ resource flyers educating community members of their rights or connecting them to services
• Reached 15,400+ individuals through our digital campaign on social media
• Broken ground on a community garden in Briarwood, Queens with the Taskforce for Racial Inclusion and Equity (TRIE) to address a lack of access to healthy and culturally accessible food. Still want to volunteer and garden with us? Sign up, here!

Although Ramadan is over, we will continue our work fueling underrepresented and underserved immigrant and refugee communities through our trauma-informed social services.
