Our students have returned to school and the Youth Program at AAFSC has returned to a normal schedule after Hurricane Sandy. All of our programs were shut down for an entire week as a result of Sandy. Luckily, most of our students and their families made it safely through the storm with little to no adverse effects. In the coming weeks the students will be working hard to catch up on their courses. The New York City Public Schools have canceled February break in order to make up the 5 days that were missed as due to the storm.

We were fortunate that this month’s Urban Adventures trip was able to continue as planned. On November 10th, 23 of our students spent the day at the Prospect Park Zoo. The students saw baboons, dingoes, and many other exotic animals as well as the sea lion feeding show. We were also lucky to have good weather for mid November. This coming Saturday students will have their monthly Art Explorers activity with New York Cares. Tonight, Wednesday November 14th, our SAT students will return after two weeks of canceled classes.
