Volunteers play a critical role at the Arab-American Family Support Center. Every year, over 75 volunteers make our work possible. With your skills, you can make a difference while building a strong community.

Open Positions

Please note – due to our transition from in-person programming to remote programming, we are working with volunteers to ensure COVID-19 safety at our events. We currently do not have weekend or evening opportunities at this time.

Food Distribution Events

AAFSC is seeking volunteers to support our food pantry and halal food distribution efforts, within our Community Health & Well-Being Program. Volunteers will work with our Community Outreach team to sort, staff, and distribute food through AAFSC’s new food pantry. This role requires lifting/carrying boxes and bulk food items.

We are looking for individuals interested in supporting our research efforts and the expansion of the AAFSC Research Institute. To learn more about our Research Institute, visit aafscny.org/researchinstutute.

We are looking for individuals interested in civic engagement, community development, and canvassing to support our Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts. You’ll support us with voter registration clinics, phone banking sessions, and general outreach to further promote civic engagement for NYC’s immigrant and refugee communities.

Digital Media

We are always looking for skilled photographers, videographers, and graphic designers to support our work.

We are looking for creative thinkers and makers to support the development of our anthology project. You’ll support outreach efforts to collect submissions, creative production, and copyediting.

Group Volunteer

We are open to working with your corporate team to create a meaningful group volunteering experience.
