BROOKLYN, NY – October 19, 2023 – Over the past week, the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the violence in Palestine and Israel have deeply and directly impacted Arab-American Family Support Center clients, staff, and their loved ones here and overseas. In the United States, our community members are now affected by increased hate crimes and speech, harassment, and violence, their daily lives punctuated by prejudice.

AAFSC strongly condemns all forms of violence affecting innocent people.

Since 1994, AAFSC has provided critical services, including benefits enrollment, legal assistance, and social services case management. These have helped immigrants — particularly those who are migrants or refugees — to make New York City their home.

AAFSC offers a number of services to the Arab, Middle Eastern, North African, Muslim, and South Asian communities, including free mental health counseling that is trauma-informed and in the languages commonly spoken by the community. To be connected to these services, please call our main line at 718-643-8000, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
