Texas Tribune: The Census Doesn’t Count Arab Americans

The U.S. census count ended abruptly last week after several deadline changes amid a legal fight with the federal administration. But the length of time people had to respond makes little difference to Arab-Americans, who say they will once again be dramatically undercounted and suffer another 10 years of underrpresentation.

The Arab-American Family Support Center (AAFSC) spoke to the Texas Tribune about the barriers and exclusions that prevent Arab-Americans from fully participating in data collection efforts like the census.
